Some kitchens just need a little love and this one had been patiently waiting since the 90's for its moment. For this sweet couple, we kept the bones and the layout exactly as they were and instead focused on transforming every surface into something truly special. The star of the show is the cabinetry, done in a rich cherry wood that goes all the way to the ceiling for maximum storage, a wood I don't often work with, but one that felt completely right for this home and this family. The result is warm, grounded, and full of character. We also added a built-in cabinet and display case near the fridge; a thoughtful little corner designed to show off the client's cherished trinkets, including her grandmother's china. It's the kind of detail that takes a kitchen from beautiful to meaningful. Fresh, functional, and perfectly in step with the transitional vibe of their home.
